Papal Conclave History and Info

Here's some stuff on Conclaves:

UNIVERSI DOMINICI GREGIS: This is the most recent Vatican document on the Papal Conclave with changes enacted by John Paull II. JPII made changes, most notably, more comfortable lodgings and if after a week no 2/3's majority, then the conclave electors can enact a rule to allow for a simple majority.

Wikipedia on Conclaves. Wikipedia is an open source encyclopedia and the entry look pretty good.

Article by Rev. Thomas J. Reese, SJ on Papal Transition. Fr. Reese is world renowned expert on ecclesial polity.

Here's EWTN's Summary (loads slowly)

Catholic Encyclopedia on the Papal Conclave. Good with more links to different aspects of papal elections and succession.

There's this academic Harvard paper that is more of an analysis calledThe Papal Conclave: How do Cardinals Divine the Will of God? (PDF)

There this at Conclave.info

The Catholic Encyclopedia article you cite is rather dated. It mentions popes ending with Pius X. Nothing from the major part of the last century. So some of this information may be a bit outdated and certainly incomplete.
